(More customer reviews)If you're looking for a humidifier you don't have to turn off and on every day, this is not for you. It claims to have settings that cycle the unit off at 40, 45, 50 and 55 percent humidity, but that isn't true. When operated in a small room with an electronic hygrometer and two newly calibrated manual hygrometers, the operation was nowhere near accurate. In fact, set at 55% turn-off, it actually shut off at around 42%, requiring manual operation to get the room to a more reasonable setting. The replacement wick/filters are very expensive for this Oskar unit but I was willing to pay the price if the unit worked correctly - which it didn't.
To make matters worse, the seller's service was horrible. From what I learned, 'Better Products Online' is apparently a 1-man business operating from a cell phone. He said he would send a Return Authorization RGA so I could get my money back. Big surprise - weeks have passed and there's no RGA in my mailbox. So now I'm out almost $200 for the unit and the hygrostats I bought to confirm that it's junk. Yeay Amazon! NOT!!
