(More customer reviews)I bought this dehumidifier yesterday and in less than 12 hours it has collected about an inch of water. I used before products that use some crystal balls to absorbed water and these crystal balls get dissolved so you don't know how much is water and how much is the crystal balls. With this product I know this water is all from the room. It is pretty quiet and the price is not bad at all. I am planning on buying additional ones for the other rooms in the house since I live in a very humid city in Cartagena, Colombia.

Noisy to very noisy on the medium to high settings, but then you would only need to use those settings when called for, such as when I cook. The oscillation option is unnecessary for this unit and it has an annoying click when it snaps back in the other direction. Also, the back panel covering the filters seems flimsy. Still, this unit seems more functional (and less expensive) than many other filters I examined.

Under "Product Description" Depending on availability, you may receive a replacement model CB11. I did not see this when ordering thru Amazon and guess what? I did receive the CB11 which I did not want. Good thing is I called the Company and got a RA number and have sent them back for the correct Bionaire but this meant an unplanned trip to the local post office and now a new pin pal to recoup the shipping cost. Bait and Switch ?!!!

(More customer reviews)I know it is titled cool mist, but why does it have to bee blowing our cool air in the winter. Sigh. That is not really a product flaw. However, I have to refill it twice a day and it is very, very loud, especailly if you have it on the high setting. My husband prefers I turn it off when we are in the room, and then the humidity drops, fast. Our bedroom is 200 square feet and it humidifies it fine, but in any larger rooms it doesn't work. Also, don;t spend more that $39.99 on this. Some sellers are trying to rip you off. I got mine at Target.

You can wash the old pads with dish soap but hardly worth the trouble and they shrink some. They probably loose some functionality in the wash also.

(More customer reviews)Searching for a good humidifier is a lot tougher than I thought. This unit looks good in the picture. It has a humidistat, it's digital, it's programmable etc... etc... There is just one small problem - it stopped working after about a month.
My advice to anyone looking for a humidifier is to get the simplest one you can. One that has one or two speeds, is not too loud and has a decent method of filling the tank. The one "extra" that is worthwhile is a unit that shuts itself off if there is no water left. A simple humidifier will cost you a lot less than this thing and it'll work just fine.

Although the instructions indicate that the unit should be placed on a waterproof/water resistant surface, I figured that this was to protect against the water vapors. But as another has mentioned here, it leaked water out of the back. A substantial amount of water, I woke up to find water all over the floor.

IF THE FILTER IS MADE OF STANDARD FILTER PAPER THEN IT NOT A PERMENANT FILTER. PS chicago has hard water its really bad on water filters.

(More customer reviews)Been using this humidifier for about 2 weeks now, and while it is stylish, and very very quiet, and keeps my one bedroom condo at a comfortable humidity level.
The amount of white dust it produces is rather irksome, even with the filters it produces alot of white dust, fortunatley most of it seems to collect on my TV so I just wipe that down a couple times a day.. You could use distilled water to eliminate it, but I go through about 4 gallons of water a day, so thats alot of distilled water.
I also do not like how there is no humidity gauge, so you can't set it to shut off when it gets to a certain level of humidity.
