It provides a good swing in the humidity before the dehumidifier kicks on. So far it seems to switch on very consistently.

(More customer reviews)New pad or old, this unit is an incredible disappointment. 3500 sq ft and it cannot keep the humidity above 30%. Now, at 5 years old, the solenoid has quit, died in an open state allowing the water to flow freely for weeks at a time into the sump. Doubled the water bill. Add a black eye to the bleeding nose. Adding insult to injury, Honeywell wants 148.00 for the replacement kit. HomeDepot is selling a comparable 17 gal unit for under 160.00. Must be some powerful good solenoid.

Honeywell 32001876-001 Solenoid Valve Kit Review

(More customer reviews)I thought a bad solenoid was the problem with my Honeywell humidifier. It wasn't. A hard water deposit had plugged a the pinhole sized inlet on the fitting that goes into my solenoid. Once I turned off the power and water, remove the water line and the inlet fitting; I cleaned out the pinhole and the little black screen inside the silver fitting and could blow through it. Put it all back together and the solenoid was was working like a champ again. It is awesome that this solenoid is available here, just make sure that that is really the problem first. I fixed mine for $0.00.

Trion 356686-001 Atomizer Humidifier Review

(More customer reviews)This is merely a drugstore style spinning disk humidifier made of metal instead of plastic with a toilet bowl style water filling valve. Loud as hell and back, randomly, due to lack of precision roundness of the very fast (vs. the drugstore version) plastic disk. It's a molded piece that likely is being de-molded too fast so it warps a bit. WRRRZZzzzzzzzzzzZZZaaaahhhhhhHHHHAHHHAZZSZARrrahhhh.... The vibration isolation sucks. It's little rubber grommets that huge metal studs (threaded rods) jut through, topped off by brass nuts. That metal connection links the top plate that holds the motor to the sound board that is the metal bucket. So I removed the brass nuts and the rubber grommets were set free to stop filling my apartment with ugly noise. Now it's white noise. Calm noise. It does NOT put out enough water vapor to do more than a couple of small rooms. Oh, yeah, better than nothing, much better, but not enough to raise my 1200 sq. ft. NYC apartment from 28% humidity much above 35%. But that's enough to help with dry skin and any coughs that linger after I inhale crap all day during my work in an art and design studio. It's a good product. The top has a wire that sort of prevents it from laying flat on the bucket, so I glued it down, but that prevents you from taking it apart to clean the rotor. Doesn't really matter. The float inside that controls the water level in the bucket can be bent by hand to allow a bit more water in so it's deep water the rotor tip is dipping into instead of shallow water which makes it's own type of very odd noise. Stuff of nightmares, that. After all these years, this little trooper is making me feel like it's spring already. The wall humidity control is top notch and uses some sort of wrapped around plastic film to measure humidity. There's enough mechanical "click" to actually measure the current humidity by cranking the knob left and right. The unit puts out vapor instead of actual gas, so hard water issues are mostly solved by the mineral solids being ejected into the air, but unlike sonic humidifiers, it does not put out a fine white dust of hard water evaporate.

Works fine, the difference in air humidity is noticeable. Automatic mode with the outside temperature sensor is a good feature. Be aware that if your furnace does not have humidifier control 24V terminals with automatic turn-on, you will need a current sensor, which is not included. Check the manual to find the current sensor model number, so that you can by it at the same time.

Bemis/Essick Air ED11 800 Whole House Console Humidifier Review

(More customer reviews)I recieved this per request for Christmas of 2007 soon after getting it I realized it never shut off so I bought a seperate digial Hygrometer which showed the humidity was well above what the machine was set at. Then it wouldnt turn on the "float" seemed to never get high enough to turn the machine on, then the read out wouldnt adjust but 24 hrs later was working fine.. The little latch that holds the water "door" closed broke so now its held closed by a latch made by Saftey1st (a baby proofing latch) does it work. Yes did I call the company yes in fact I called them within 3 days of getting the "gift" and was told I could either send back the entire until with proof of purchase (which I did not have) or I could buy a seperate hygrometer through them to see if the machine was actually defective. Needless to say last winter(2008) I was so annoyed with this machine I dreaded pulling it out of the basement for use but really had to as I could not find another locally or one on the net which would cover the sq footage as this one does. This is the beginning of the 3rd season I am using it and today it ticked me off one final time by not kicking on with the humidty in the house at only 28% and the machine set for 50% and the tank filled that I am searching for a new one.. Maybe mine was defective my father has an essick air humidifier (whole house) and has never had any problems at all.. Also this puts out cool air which is supposed to be good for the skin, mucos membranes etcs however its not good when its subzero outside and the humidity is cooling the house that everyone has a chill

(More customer reviews)I ordered this item a couple of weeks ago. When it arrived last week a part was completely broken in half (half of it was missing.) Getting a simple return authorization has been a nightmare.
First, I went to Amazon. Amazon stated that I would have to call Northern Tool & Equipment (NT&E). I called NT&E and, after being on hold for 20 minutes, they stated that they would have to contact the manufacturer. A WEEK LATER I received an email from NT&E stating that the manufacturer needed to know the EXACT PART that was broken. So, I found the instruction manual, found the part number and gave NT&E another call. After another 20 minutes on hold I was told that the information would be passed off to the manufacturer.
I still haven't received a return authorization and I don't know when I will.
Bottom line, it appears that NT&E doesn't really know how to sell it's products online. Dragging your customers through weeks of red tape and phone calls to make a simple return is just terrible customer service.

The only problem I find is when the water solonoid is turned on there is no "flow" control over the water going in to the humidifier media and there is a LOT of wasted water. After using this a month I found it DOUBLED my water bill because of all the wasted water down the drain. I have since disconnected this humidifer because I don't need to spend that type of money going down the drain. It would be nice if there was some type of float device that would fill up and the meter the water in to the media and be used instead of pouring water down the drain.

Also, the filters came with minimal packaging protection and the corners are slightly damaged but still usable.

A04-1725-034 Skuttle Humidifier Filter Belt Review

(More customer reviews)These are not OEM pads, they are the cheap-o replacement pads. I gave them a try (to save money) and I regret it. When I use these pads the humidifier can not humidify the house adequately.
I believe the problem is the foam that they are made from. The holes are too small/tight and the air does NOT flow through them. That means they are very inefficient.
I am very unhappy with these filters and will never buy them again. Since I bought 4 of them I will also end up throwing away three of them. Learn from my mistake!

I was so tired of daily filling, draining and cleaning my console humidifier, and the crusty white stuff that accumulated on it (not to mention the slime mold that grew in the tank if I didn't clean it with bleach.) This unit connects to your hot water line and to a drain, so it supplies its own water and continuously cleans itself. There's no crusty white stuff, you just set the humistat and forget about it. It's fairly quiet, too.
Though the unit is fairly small (about 13 inches square) and not heavy (15 lbs.) it's more than adequate to completely humidify our 1600 sq. ft. home.
I don't know about energy usage or reliability because I just started using it, but so far the performance has been wonderful.

(More customer reviews)A simple, straight-forward, no frills humidifier. exactly how they should be. the construction is solid, very few moving parts. Installation was simple, the template for cutting is enclosed in the instruction manual, and plumbing is as simple as using a self-tapping saddle valve (although i chose to install a T to a 1/2inch shut-off valve with a 1/4inch outlet). no electrical connections necessary.
One important detail that was left out of all the descriptions of the 800 General Humidifier is that it can be configured for small and large homes by simply adding more evaporator pads. (small~800ft, large~2500ft) It ships with a box of 5 pads, enough for a small home, but fits up to 15 pads.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this humidifier for a library, which is primarily dark woods and the white 821-000 model which is a very good unit stood out like a sore thumb. Fortunately, both units take the #1043 replacement wick. The pictures I saw of the product depict a rather rich looking appearance, but in the flesh its not so impressive. The fill level is somewhat confusing. Its a 1" plate saying max fill. Fill to the bottom/middle/top of the plate? Nothing in the manual on the subject. Filling it is a pain with a little door that makes pouring in water a precision operation to avoid spills. In addition, I needed a flashlight to see the water level to prevent overfilling. I have 2 of the 821-000 models and they are much easier to use. They should make a dark colored version of it where white is not a good option. I have also found that filling the units with filtered water greatly extends filter life and efficiency. Otherwise, if the water used has a high mineral content it will turn the filter into a cinder block in short order.

(More customer reviews)This model has three fan settings: whisper (doesn't put much humidity into the air at all), loud (puts humidity into the air), and louder (also puts humidity into the air). So if you want a sufficient amount of humidity, you're going to have to deal with lots of noise. I needed humidity, so I figured that I'd just have to deal with it.
Refilling it (which has to be done daily) is a real pain. Unlike the 12-gallon model which has a side-fill spout, the spout for this one is on the bottom. Good luck fitting this one in your kitchen sink to refill.
Then after about 4 months, the motor burned out!!
I also own a Kenmore 12-gallon model. That one is much better. Save youself the trouble and buy the 12-gallon model. It is much better in all areas.
